Keep fighting! Or maybe not?...
Best-laid plans and such… It doesn’t always go to plan. And then what?
Last week, with all good intentions, it didn’t go to plan. On Wednesday morning I started the newsletter which I had planned to write on Tuesday. I started a social media post for The Wise Learner Community. I started my post here on LinkedIn.
The day came and went, and by the end of the working day I had not made any progress. So I decided to leave the newsletter and only finish my social media posts by saying:
“I started writing this post early this morning... and the working day is coming to an end now and I've not finished writing this.
I'm going to be nice to myself and just accept it the way it is, and just leave it like that for today. How about you... are you okay with not having done everything you wanted to maybe do today? Are you being nice to yourself?”
Isn’t that what it’s all about in the end? Not that we get everything done, but that we are okay with that?
How easy are you on yourself, how forgiving, how loving, how gentle?
When things don’t go to plan, YOU HAVE A CHOICE:
- Accept it and see what you can do next to make the situation as good as can be under the circumstances
- Fight it and loose a lot of energy without creating a way forward
Last Friday evening I went live in the community to talk about surrendering, about leaning into the situation. About self-care, and acceptance. About how fighting, wanting the situation to be different from what it is, is not that productive and how it is actually making things so much more difficult.
